Dev, Ashok Selvan arrives in London to work in a restaurant named Amara, steered by a revered head chef Nassar who hasn’t cooked in 15 years and judges every dish by its aroma rather than its appearance. Rajesh, Satya, and Tara Ritu Varma also work in the same restaurant, creating a tightly wound kitchen culture where talent and pressure go hand in hand. Despite a personal struggle with unexpected muscle spasms, Dev proves to be a remarkable cook, quickly winning over the head chef and the rest of the staff with thoughtful, nearly invisible tweaks that elevate other people’s dishes rather than drawing attention to himself.

One evening, Dev and Tara venture into the restaurant’s cold store for ingredients. The door is faulty, so they wedge it shut to keep it closed. A moment of mishap lets the wedge slip away, and the door locks them inside. Tara’s anger at Dev for the lapse turns to worry as they begin to suffer from the chill creeping through the space. The bond between them deepens, but Maya interrupts their moment, pulling Dev back into a memory and a gaze only he can share. To ease the tension, Tara plays their favorite song and dances with Dev, yet the moment is cut short when Dev collapses from a cardiac arrest and is rushed to a hospital. The dramatic turn sharpens the stakes and tests the limits of trust between two people who are learning to lean on each other.

Maya, in a quiet surrender, seems to accept this promise.
