This film centers around Nissim (Lalit Prabhakar), a talented yet introverted chef navigating the complexities of his personal emotions and relationships. In his earlier years, Nissim experienced a romantic relationship with Krushna (Spruha Joshi), which ultimately did not last. During a college reunion, Krushna openly expresses her regret about their separation, heartfelt in her feelings, which lingers in her memory. In contrast, Nissim now feels a fondness for her but admits he’s no longer in love. This moment highlights the bittersweet nature of past love and the emotional residue it leaves.

At his restaurant, Nissim works alongside colleagues such as Prajakta (Parna Pethe), who is admired by many, including him. His own shy nature prevents him from revealing his feelings for her. The staff also includes Gowri (Sai Tamhankar), a confident head chef, and Shubhankar (Sagar Deshmukh), another talented chef, both of whom are non-Maharashtrians.

One day, Nissim notices Gowri in the parking lot, seemingly in a confrontation with a man, Sarang Sathye. Concerned, he approaches her later, and their conversation reveals Gowri’s carefree yet intriguing personality. As they interact more, Gowri encourages Nissim to express his feelings to Prajakta, hinting that she also might like him back. But when they finally go on a date, Prajakta reveals she is getting married, making Nissim feel devastated. Despite his feelings, he chooses to stay silent and doesn’t confess his affection, leaving him with a sense of regret.

Meanwhile, his family dynamic adds another layer to the story. His mother frequently vents about ongoing tensions surrounding his aunt, yet his father, a composed and loving man, patiently tames these conflicts. His father shares that what sustains their long-lasting relationship is the element of surprise and mutual respect, a lesson Nissim begins to understand.

Gowri’s relationship with Nissim takes a complicated turn when she asks if he wants to sleep with her; he declines, but his attempt at affection leads to an awkward moment, when she reacts by slapping him. Nissim’s guilt weighs on him, and he longs to clarify things, yet Gowri suddenly distance herself, ending communication. As she takes a leave from work, Nissim finds himself increasingly lonely, pondering where he went wrong—whether he should have expressed his feelings sooner.

In the wake of this emotional turmoil, Nissim takes charge of the restaurant, feeling adrift. He tries online dating and receives an immediate response from a girl who is interested simply because he plans to move to Paris. However, Nissim feels unsure and decides not to pursue it further after their initial date. Parallelly, Shubhankar, a close friend and coworker, faces his own heartbreak—his wife leaves him, tired of his dedication to his career. Nissim later helps him see that his happiness shouldn’t come at the cost of neglecting his family, encouraging him to consider divorce, which ultimately leads to Shubhankar leaving the restaurant to start anew.

Gowri, meanwhile, becomes an object of fascination for Nissim. He begins to secretly follow her around, observing her every move and slowly realizing that he has developed feelings for her. Her independence and strength inspire him, and he begins to see her as more than just a colleague—she becomes someone he genuinely cares about.

Throughout the story, Nissim’s parents, despite their own disagreements, find a way to reconcile, showing him that love often involves patience and understanding. His father’s advice about how his mother manages to surprise him and keep their relationship alive resonates deeply within him.

In a heartfelt and ultimately romantic moment, Nissim expresses his affection not just through words but actions, culminating in a charming balcony scene that echoes the timeless Romeo and Juliet story. The film closes on a note of hope and love, emphasizing that sometimes, understanding and patience are what truly build lasting relationships.
