As the 1950s came to a close, an enigmatic aerial phenomenon unexpectedly crashed into a United States military hangar. President Dwight D. Eisenhower, portrayed by Robert Beer, personally oversaw the scene, commanding an urgent disposal of the extraterrestrial visitor. Little did he realize that this was merely the start of an unfolding saga that would ripple through decades.

Fast forward to 1985, where we meet Michael Harlan (John Stockwell), a high school senior with an ardent passion for muscle cars and a distinct disinterest in science. His friend, Ellie Sawyer (Danielle von Zerneck), a studious bookworm eager to enlighten him, believes she has him under her influence during what turns out to be a disastrous outing at an aircraft boneyard. During their adventure, Michael stumbles across a concealed fallout shelter, stumbling upon a luminous plasma device that would irrevocably alter his life.

Unbeknownst to Michael, this peculiar artifact was part of a clandestine government project, and activating it spirals into a whirlwind of outrageous events.
