Eighteen-year-old Noah leaves Florida with her mother to start a new life in London with her wealthy new stepfather, William, and her future stepbrother, Nick. She says goodbye to her friends Haley and Dan, gifting her car to them. Noah is unhappy about the move and apprehensive about meeting Nick, who is portrayed as the 'golden boy'.
