Ganesh, a man plagued by phasmophobia, refuses to go out after 6 PM and the family moves into a new house. Soon after settling in, Ganesh begins to act strangely as a malevolent presence unsettles him. His family notices the shift and grows worried about his behavior.

The ghost takes control of Ganesh and his rude behavior becomes apparent, shocking the family. They cannot understand the sudden change and decide to seek help from a priest named Andaiyar. The priest agrees to look into the haunting and help them.

Andaiyar questions the ghost about its origins and purpose. The ethereal voice reveals it is Muniyaandi and prepares to recount a flashback of his life. The session sets the stage for the revelations to come.

The flashback shows Muni as a kindhearted but poor man living in the slums with his daughter. He befriends MLA Marakka Dhandapani, who promises to help the poor and win votes by using Muni's story. The bond is built on hollow promises that will later cost Muni dearly.

Dhandapani uses Muni’s image to secure votes and wins the election with the backing of the poor. After the victory, he cheats Muni, withholding the promised lands and support. The betrayal seeds the tragedy that follows.

Muni confronts Dhandapani over the betrayal, and violence erupts. Dhandapani kills Muni and his daughter to silence the threat. He also tries to cover it up by spreading lies to the villagers about the money.

Hearing Muni’s tragedy, Ganesh resolves to help him and asks Andaiyar to pretend that the ghost has left Ganesh’s body. Andaiyar agrees, setting the plan to bring relief to the family. Ganesh’s decision marks a turning point in the haunting.

With Muni’s spirit in control, Ganesh secures a job as a bodyguard for Dhandapani’s daughter. This new role brings him close to the politician’s circle and helps Muni orchestrate his revenge. The situation deepens the conflict between the two sides.

Ganesh, as Muni, brutally kills Dhandapani’s brother, leading Dhandapani to realize Ganesh’s true identity. He hires the exorcist Mastaan Bhai to save himself and neutralize the threat. Bhai captures Muni and negotiates terms with Dhandapani.

At the Ayyanaar temple, Dhandapani confesses to the people that he killed Muni and his daughter and then attempts to placate the villagers by leaving money. The crowd witnesses the confession and the moral reckoning unfolds. Muni speaks with the villagers and partakes in the feast.

Bhai instructs Muni to depart from Ganesh’s body, and Muni complies. The exorcist’s command signals the end of the possession as Ganesh’s body returns to normal. Yet the seeds of injustice have already been sown.

Despite the confession, Dhandapani has lied to reclaim his money from the villagers. Ganesh, now fully embodying Muni in the final act, kills Dhandapani in a fit of righteous anger. Mastaan Bhai witnesses the act but refuses to intervene, finally acknowledging the injustice.
