Inayat Khan, a senior police officer in Srinagar, loses his young son Irfaan after local doctors refuse to treat him because of a fatwa issued by Malik Ul Khan. The denial of medical aid is tied to the ongoing conflict and personal enmity, leaving Inayat devastated. This tragedy motivates Inayat to seek justice against those responsible.

Inayat leads a successful operation to eliminate Malik Ul Khan and his militant network. During the raid, a civilian couple is killed in crossfire, leaving Altaaf as the sole survivor. The raid marks a turning point in the conflict and for Altaaf's fate.

At the urging of his wife Neelima, Inayat adopts Altaaf, the surviving child from the Malik Ul Khan operation. He keeps the circumstances of Irfaan's death and the civilian couple's fate from Altaaf, presenting a normal family life. The adoption quietly binds Altaaf to Inayat.

Years later, Altaaf uncovers the truth about his real parents and the death of his biological family. He confronts Inayat and attempts to kill him, then flees to avoid punishment. This moment marks the beginning of Altaaf's separation from his adoptive father.

Altaaf is found and radicalized by Hilal Kohistani, the leader of a militant group, who raises him to become a terrorist. Hilal shapes Altaaf's ideology and brings him into the wider conspiracy. This transformation sets Altaaf on the path of violence.

A decade after his adoption, Altaaf returns to Srinagar as part of Mission Kashmir, a terrorist operation that ostensibly aims to assassinate the Indian Prime Minister. The mission relies on local operatives and recruitment, foreshadowing the complex relationships he will form there.

As part of the mission, Altaaf reconnects with his childhood friend and television personality Sufiya Parvez. He falls in love with her, but uses the relationship to facilitate an attack on the city's TV tower. The liaison intertwines personal emotion with political aims.

Sufiya learns Altaaf's true identity as the son of Inayat and a terrorist, prompting her to break off their relationship. The revelation forces Altaaf to confront the personal costs of his mission. Trust and love collide with loyalty to the cause.

Altaaf plants a bomb intended for Inayat, but Neelima is killed in the explosion. The loss deepens the rift between father and son and heightens the emotional intensity surrounding the mission. The incident underscores the tragic collateral damage of the conspiracy.

Inayat discovers that Mission Kashmir is designed to bomb both Hindu and Muslim religious sites to incite communal violence and destabilize the region. The Prime Minister's assassination is revealed to be a diversion, and Hilal had kept Altaaf unaware of the full plot. He grapples with how to stop the plan without harming his son.

Inayat captures Hilal and proposes a deal: allow Mission Kashmir to proceed if Hilal agrees to kill Altaaf. The confrontation tests loyalties and the fate of the mission hangs in the balance. The alliance between two leaders begins to fracture as the truth surfaces.

Altaaf overpowers Inayat and hesitates to execute him, moved by memories of Neelima's kindness. He then kills Hilal and dismantles the missile launchers, foiling the operation and killing the remaining militants. Altaaf is wounded in the process and is rescued by Inayat.

The terrorist plot is exposed by the media, bringing the truth to light. Altaaf awakens from a dream and reconciles with Sufiya and Inayat, finally accepting Inayat as his father again. The family finds a fragile peace as Altaaf seeks a normal life.
