Miss Robin Crusoe

A violent storm wrecks the ship on September 28, 1659. Robin Crusoe, the captain's daughter, and a sailor named Sykes survive and reach a deserted island. They begin to survey their surroundings and plan for survival.

During the aftermath, Sykes tries to force Robin to show gratitude; she flees up a hill. In the struggle, he slips and falls from a cliff, dying on the rocks below.

Robin establishes a treehouse shelter and prays for protection against the island's hazards. She begins keeping a diary to record her day-to-day life and the rhythms of her isolated world.

She explores the island, learning its terrain, resources, and dangers. In a moment of rare freedom, she even goes skinny dipping and feels the freedom of the sea.

A group of savages lands with two captive women and sets a brutal tone. From hiding, Robin watches as one captive is executed in a gruesome fashion, a moment that hardens her view of outsiders.

Robin then rescues the second captive, who will become Friday. The two women fight off the attackers together, using a flintlock to turn the tide.

The rescued captive is named Friday, and she and Robin quickly form a friendship. Robin teaches Friday basic words, and the two begin to share the island life.

As they forage, Friday warns Robin about a deadly fruit, highlighting the island's hidden dangers. The two rely on each other to navigate food and safety.

In December, Royal Navy officer Jonathan reaches the island after his ship sinks in a storm. He is wary at first, shaped by Robin's history with lecherous sailors and cruel men, but curiosity grows.

Jonathan proposes that the fittest should take the two-seat longboat and return for Friday. Robin insists that she and Friday will repair and use the boat to call for rescue themselves, rejecting his plan to leave them behind.

Over time, Robin overcomes her mistrust of men and spends the night with Jonathan. The moment marks a turning point in their relationship and in her outlook on the future.

The next morning, Robin awakes to find Jonathan has stolen the longboat and is sailing away. She wakes with anger, assuming he is a coward who abandoned them.

Jonathan explains that he turned back for Robin, but she is consumed with anger and aims to shoot him. Just then, savages return and capture Friday, worsening the danger for all.

A warship appears and bombards the attackers, giving Robin, Jonathan, and Friday a chance to flee in an outrigger canoe. They manage to reach the safety of the ship and escape together.

Robin writes the final entry in her diary with Jonathan's help as his hand is shown resting on hers. The moment signals a possible future beyond the island, together at last.
