Miracle in Milan

Totò is found as a baby in a humble cabbage patch, an unusual beginning that hints at his extraordinary future. He is lovingly nurtured by his adoptive mother, Lolotta, who imparts her kindness and wisdom to him during his formative years.

The narrative takes a poignant turn with the passing of Totò's adoptive mother, Lolotta. This loss marks the beginning of his journey away from childhood and into a world of challenges as he is moved to an orphanage.

At the orphanage, Totò learns valuable organizational skills that will be crucial for his future. His time there helps him develop a sense of responsibility and community amidst the challenges faced by orphans.

After completing his upbringing at the orphanage, Totò steps out into the world as an adult. He ultimately makes his way to a makeshift squatter colony on the fringes of Milan, seeking a place to call home.

In the squatter colony, Totò emerges as a symbol of hope and structure for the inhabitants. His personal attributes, courtesy of Lolotta's nurturing, allow him to foster joy and a sense of community despite their uncertain living conditions.

As Totò begins to create a sense of belonging, the land on which they reside captures the attention of greedy businessmen, including Mobbi. Unbeknownst to the squatters, their home is at risk due to the opportunistic plans of these developers.

During a vibrant festival, the squatters come together to dig a pit for a maypole, celebrating their community spirit. In an unexpected twist, they strike oil while digging, which they initially mistake for water.

Upon discovering the oil, Mobbi, informed by the unscrupulous Rappi, devises a scheme to evict the squatters. He employs the police to force them off the land, exploiting their precarious situation to seize the valuable resource.

In Totò's moment of desperation, he receives an ethereal dove from the spirit of Lolotta, which boasts the agency to grant wishes. This miraculous gift fills the squatters with hope, enabling them to envision a brighter future.

However, as the two celestial beings decide to reclaim the dove, its magical influence over the camp dissipates. This loss leaves the squatters vulnerable at a time when they most need protection from Mobbi's impending eviction.

As the police arrive in full force, chaos ensues within the squatter colony. Totò's friends are apprehended and taken away in police wagons, heightening the tension and urgency of their situation.

Inspired by his beloved Edvige's whimsical decision to swap the magical dove with an ordinary one, Totò channels his faith. His heartfelt wish for the release of his friends results in an astonishing miracle as the police vehicles dissolve.

In a spectacular turn of events, the squatters ascend into the air on broomsticks taken from Milan's central square. They embark on a journey that symbolizes their hope for a new beginning, leaving behind the strife of their former lives.

As they soar above the famous cathedral of Milan, the squatters venture towards a land where genuine kindness thrives. Their flight represents a renewal of spirit and the longing for a reality where their dreams can manifest.
