CIA dirty-deeds man John Dresham and black ops organizer Anthony Chapel hire John Seeger and his crew for a mission on the French-controlled Galmoral Island in Southern Africa. Ostensibly the goal is to aid the local population, but the real motive is to seize and profit from the island's oil and diamond reserves. The arrangement sets the stage for a dangerous collision of corporate greed, CIA influence, and mercenary prowess.

Some of Seeger's soldiers ignore his orders and seize the French Ambassador and his family to use as leverage. They later blow them up, triggering a brutal confrontation with French troops. Amid the chaos, Radio Jones, Seeger's best friend, is killed. The operation spirals into a high-stakes disaster.

Maxine Barnol, a spy masquerading as a journalist, suggests that the operation may be tied to CIA interests. Her insinuations plant seeds of doubt about official motives and hint at larger political machinations. Seeger’s awareness of external manipulation grows, foreshadowing betrayals to come.

Seeger travels to the home of Radio's widow Shondra and breaks the tragic news of the ambush. He promises to look after her and her young son Eddie, showing a personal stake beyond the mission. Later, he eliminates two of Dresham's men who were sent to kill him, and he begins to uncover Dresham's deeper implication in the operation.

Chapel enlists Seeger's team once more and abducts Shondra and Eddie to force John into cooperation. The stakes are raised as they are used as collateral against Seeger's loyalty. The team prepares for a mission framed around Kamal Dasan's rescue, but the real target remains unclear.

The mission centers on rescuing Kamal Dasan, the son of gun runner Ahmet Dasan, who is imprisoned in Randveld Prison outside Cape Town and slated for extradition to the United States. Seeger and the team prepare to infiltrate the facility under pressure from Dresham's renewed interference. The situation tightens as Kamal's fate hangs in balance.

Dresham uncovers that there's a job involved but he doesn't know what the target is. When he encounters Maxine again, he forces her to work for him instead of Chapel. The power shift signals a dangerous shift in loyalties and sets up a collision between rival plans.

Maxine continues to manipulate Dresham, convincing him that the mission's target is a bank safe in Cape Town. Dresham leverages CIA influence to gain access to security installations and to photograph sensitive details. Maxine quietly records the operation through her lens, tightening the net around Kamal's case.

Seeger leads Dresham in circles while the mercenaries break into Randveld Prison, only to discover that Kamal is no longer there. The failure exposes a new layer of deception and raises the stakes for the rescue mission. The team must adjust plans on the fly as time runs out.

During a raid at a Cape Town bank, Seeger convinces the Greek government to arrest Kamal Dasan's father, Ahmet Dasan, effectively tying up the key player. Seeger escapes while ensuring Dresham's own arrest seems imminent. The action underscores that the real chessboard is a web of international politics, not a simple heist.

With a small cadre of loyal teammates, Seeger infiltrates the last strongholds and rescues Shondra and Eddie. He then kills Chapel and his guards, ending the mercenary operation with a personal victory and the exposure of the conspirators. The film closes on a note of retribution and the uncertain future of the survivors.
