Renegades (2022) Plot Summary & Ending Explained

In the end, the four aging veterans—Burton, Woody, Harris, and Peck—manage to successfully take down Goram’s gang, despite their age and limited resources. They rely on their experience, courage, and resourcefulness, using a combination of firearms, grenades, and even a crossbow, to overwhelm the younger, better-armed criminals. The moment Burton snaps Goram’s neck signifies a decisive, personal act of retribution, emphasizing that their fight has become deeply personal and driven by loyalty and the memory of their fallen friend. After the chaos, the group is approached by a character named Palmer, who offers them the chance to join a new squad, hinting at a possible sequel and continuing their vigilante journey. The film explores the theme that soldiers, regardless of age, remain bound by their shared trauma and camaraderie, willing to risk everything once again for justice. Ultimately, the movie reminds us that the bonds forged in war can endure beyond the battlefield, pushing even the oldest veterans to fight fiercely in the name of loyalty and loss.
