Phillippe Sauvage, Jean-Claude Van Damme, is an American soldier recovering from PTSD in a VA hospital. The release of notorious rap mogul Terrell Singletery Viv Leacock from prison sets off a new wave of danger, as Wayne Barclay, Razaaq Adoti, a retired heavyweight champion turned community leader, decides he needs more protection. Wayne’s sister and manager, Tamara Barclay Vivica A. Fox, pushes for tighter security and brings Sauvage into the mix after a troublesome incident, with Mullins—Kendall Mullins, played by Peter Bryant—bringing in his former Army comrade Clarence Bowden Julian Christopher to help build a trusted security team.

On their first security detail outside a club, Terrell sends a hit squad after Wayne. Clarence Bowden is killed and Sauvage is arrested for possession of an automatic weapon. After he posts bail, Tamara moves Sauvage into Wayne’s guest house and names him the head of security. Sauvage insists on bringing in his own colleagues, but Wayne requires the team to be trained through his boxing gym. To bolster the unit, Sauvage brings in Casey Bledsoe Mark Griffin, a fellow veteran, to train the recruits. Meanwhile, Tamara begins to develop feelings for Sauvage, though Wayne grows wary, and Detective Teague [Ron Bottitta] warns that Sauvage carries a brutal Iraq past.

Terrell escalates the threat by sending another hit squad to watch over Wayne’s girlfriend Lydia Sharon Amos to pressure him. Wayne attempts a covert visit to see Lydia, but Tamara disapproves of the risk. Cujo Adrian Holmes, another member of the guard team, spots the new squad and a tense confrontation follows, ending with Wayne’s men subduing the attackers and turning them over to the police.

The next day, Sauvage tries to steer Wayne away from giving a speech at a sports complex opening, but friction over security leads to chaos when a suspicious man in the crowd is ordered down by the guards, sparking a riot. The man was merely reaching for his cell phone, leaving Wayne humiliated by the press. Sauvage resigns and demands to prove his methods by fighting Wayne, while Tamara quietly follows him.

A brutal fight between Wayne and Sauvage culminates in a dire turning point: Jesse, a female guard, is attacked and Tamara is abducted. Detective Teague’s probing questions linger as the team struggles to explain Tamara’s absence. In the car, Sauvage and Wayne revisit the Iraq incident and their intertwined histories, and Lydia calls, forcing Wayne to head to her place—unaware that a gun is held to her head. Sauvage devises a plan while discovering Teague’s ties to Terrell, then cuts the power to cripple Terrell’s scorched operation.

Disguised as Terrell’s guards, Wayne, Sauvage, and Mullins infiltrate Terrell’s estate to rescue Tamara. Sauvage and Bledsoe secure Tamara, while Wayne engages Terrell’s men alongside Mullins. The confrontation ends with Wayne delivering the fatal blow to Terrell; Sauvage is shot but saved by his protective vest. In the aftermath, Wayne begins to repair things with Tamara, and Sauvage’s bond with Tamara grows stronger, ending with a quiet, hopeful kiss as they confront the road ahead.
