Starting his career at Towers and Smythe Consulting with high hopes, Derek Cho finds himself embroiled in a cutthroat corporate environment. He becomes caught up in back-stabbing tactics and the relentless pursuit of climbing the corporate ladder.

One morning, Derek discovers his favorite mug missing, indicating a troubling workplace atmosphere. Shortly thereafter, he encounters irate client Melanie Cross, who is in dire need of assistance regarding her loan extension.

Derek uncovers that his boss, Cara, is sabotaging his career by blaming him for a legal incident involving Vandacorp. Despite his protests, Derek is terminated from his position, leaving him devastated and betrayed.
