When a convict slips away on the way to the court due to Ekambaram’s soft-hearted approach, Marudhamalai faces the consequences of a system where mercy can cost him discipline and credibility. The fallout of this incident lands him with cleaning duties at the inspector’s house, a humbling assignment that also becomes the unexpected doorway to love, as he encounters Divya and begins to feel a deeper pull beyond the badge.

The town’s uneasy political landscape soon comes into focus in a shocking moment when Maasi, the so-called boss of Nachiyarpuram, is seen killing a man who supported a rival candidate. Maasi’s grip on the constituency—16 years without a legitimate MLA—rests on a calculated blend of caste influence and illicit income. Although the region’s government has labeled the seat reserved, Maasi orchestrates elections through fear, murder, and strategic placements of lower-caste puppets, then resigns to create empty seats at will. The situation escalates when the chief election commissioner, Suryanarayanan IAS, arrives to challenge Maasi and push for by-elections, threatening to disrupt the status quo.

On election day, chaos erupts despite heavy security as Maasi’s men, with help from a guard, try to drive away voters and threaten the commissioner. In a public display of righteous anger, Marudhamalai’s father, Nassar, steps in and slaps Maasi for the violence, catalyzing a confrontation that pits duty against terror. Marudhamalai intervenes, singles out Maasi’s henchmen, and, in a bold moment, handcuffs Maasi with his own dhoti, humiliating him before the gathered crowd.
