Longlegs

A young girl gazes out her bedroom window and notices a strange car parked outside her home. Driven by curiosity, she grabs her Polaroid camera and ventures outside, only to come face-to-face with a cloaked figure sitting in the passenger seat.

FBI agent Lee Harker finds herself in the midst of a frantic manhunt for a serial killer preying on families. While canvassing the area, her partner is tragically shot, forcing Harker into a high-stakes confrontation with the suspect, whom she manages to apprehend on instinct.

Following the apprehension, evaluations reveal that Harker possesses psychic abilities. She is then tasked with investigating the case of Longlegs, the main suspect behind a series of gruesome murder-suicides targeting families with a shared birthday.

After her first day on the case, Harker drops off her supervisor, Agent Carter, at home, where she meets his family and reluctantly agrees to attend his daughter Ruby's birthday party. Later that night, she receives a chilling letter from Longlegs, along with a sinister birthday card.

Harker investigates a clue marked 'X marks the spot' at an old crime scene. She discovers a cross on the floor and, upon further digging, uncovers a doll with a disturbing secret inside its head, which later triggers psychic visions revealing deeper mysteries.

Seeking insight, Harker visits Carrie Anne Camera, the lone survivor from a previous Longlegs murder scene. Carrie Anne recounts the chilling details of receiving a doll from Longlegs and hearing disembodied voices, which compelled her to obey its sinister commands.

Harker examines the murder dates and realizes they form an upside-down pentagram, with one date missing. She discovers Polaroids from her childhood at her mother's house, leading her to identify the pale-faced man she believes is Longlegs.

During an intense interrogation, Longlegs reveals himself as Dale Ferdinand Kobble and chillingly sings 'Happy Birthday' to Harker. His cryptic comments about his accomplices lead to a shocking hint regarding Harker’s own past and identity.

Returning to confront her mother, Harker is horrified to witness her mother shoot a colleague. When she emerges, she faces a doll resembling herself that her mother intends to shoot, resulting in Harker fainting from the overwhelming shock of the chaotic scene.

A montage reveals the horrifying fact that Harker's mother was Longlegs' accomplice masquerading as a nun. Longlegs had made a sinister pact to spare Harker's life during her childhood while lurking in the family's basement.

Waking up to a ringing phone, Harker learns she is late for Ruby's birthday party. Urgently, she commandeers Longlegs’ car to rush toward the Carter household, where she fears an impending tragedy.

Upon arriving, Harker discovers her mother attempting to sacrifice Ruby with a sinister doll’s influence. In a desperate act of bravery, Harker is forced to shoot her own mother to protect Ruby, interrupting the horrific ritual.

In the heat of the showdown, Harker realizes she has run out of bullets just as she faces the cursed doll—her last hope to eradicate the source of the evil that has haunted her life. The stakes have never been higher as she weighs her options.

The movie concludes with Longlegs in the interrogation room, defiantly declaring 'Hail Satan' and blowing a mocking kiss to the audience. This chilling moment leaves viewers with a lasting sense of dread and unresolved terror regarding the lurking evil.
