Lola and Billy the Kid

Seventeen-year-old Murat, living in Berlin with his mother and older brother Osman, struggles with his sexuality as his family and community pressure him to conform. Osman, who has become head of the household after their father's death, urges Murat to lose his virginity to a woman. Murat endures harassment and beatings from classmates who mock him for being gay, highlighting the social pressure he faces.

Lola, a Turkish man who dresses as a woman, argues with his boyfriend Billy about returning to Turkey. Billy pressures Lola to undergo sex reassignment so they can move together, but Lola fears the surgery would end their relationship. The couple's tension reveals the fragility of their bond and the risks Lola takes to live openly.

Murat learns that Lola is actually his brother, disowned by Osman and their father for being gay. This revelation shatters his sense of family and belonging, intensifying his resolve to leave home. The truth strains Murat's loyalty to Osman.

Murat runs away from home and ends up at the bar where Lola works, where the brothers reconnect. They begin to understand each other’s fear of rejection from family and society, and a fragile bond starts to form.

Lola mysteriously disappears, leaving Murat confused and vulnerable as Billy's influence grows over the bar's operations. Murat finds himself drawn into Billy's dangerous world.

Lola's body is found in a river, shocking Murat and the bar's circle. News of the death destabilizes the already tense atmosphere around the bar and Murat.

Billy tells Murat that he knows who killed Lola and argues that they should handle it themselves rather than involve the police. This plan pushes Murat toward a vigilante mindset.

Two Lola's friends reveal that Osman raped Lola after discovering her sexuality and threw her out. They warn Murat that Billy is capable of the same cruelty Osman showed.

Murat disguises himself as Lola, wearing Lola's red wig, to confront the boys suspected of Lola's murder, with Billy lurking in the background. The disguise marks a dangerous turn as Murat tries to enforce his own sense of justice.

In the confrontation, Billy castrates one boy and stabs a second, who is shot by a third boy who claims they had no knowledge of Lola's murder. Murat is left with the third boy amid the chaos.

Murat returns home and discovers that Osman was Lola's killer. Osman admits guilt as Murat confronts him, and their mother slaps Osman in response.

The mother slaps Osman and, with Murat by her side, leaves the home, discarding her hijab as a sign of defiance. They step into a new chapter outside their former life together.
