In the year 2029, Logan, also known as Wolverine, leads a mundane life as a chauffeur in Texas. His once formidable healing factor has diminished, leaving him with an aged body and struggling to cope with everyday challenges.

Logan lives in a dilapidated smelting plant with Caliban, a mutant tracker. Their primary responsibility is caring for Professor Charles Xavier, who is suffering from Alzheimer's and occasionally experiences destructive seizures, causing pain for both Logan and Caliban.

Logan faces significant financial difficulties, including a $40,000 debt over his stretch limousine. Caliban expresses concern for Logan's state of mind and hints at Logan's dark thoughts regarding the Adamantium bullet he carries.

Logan is approached by Gabriela Lopez, a nurse from the biotechnology company Alkali-Transigen. She pleads with him to transport her and an 11-year-old girl named Laura to a sanctuary for mutants called 'Eden' in North Dakota, offering him $50,000 for the job.

Upon reaching the motel, Logan learns that Gabriela has been murdered. In a twist of fate, he unknowingly takes Laura back with him to Mexico, hiding her in his car as they become fugitives.

As they flee, Logan, Laura, and Xavier encounter Donald Pierce, the ruthless chief of security for Transigen. He relentlessly pursues them with his merciless enforcers known as the Reavers.

During a confrontation with the Reavers, Laura's combat prowess with Adamantium claws and healing abilities surprises Logan. This reveals her as not just a child but a formidable mutant in her own right.

Logan learns from Xavier that Laura is part of a dark project by Transigen, where mutant children were engineered from DNA samples. This startling revelation weighs heavily on Logan, especially as Laura was created from his own genetic material.

In Oklahoma City, Logan acquires a new vehicle, but they soon become embroiled in conflict. A telepathic seizure by Xavier leads to a tragic incident where an innocent family is slaughtered by X-24, a clone of Logan.

Despite feeling worn out and hopeless, Logan is encouraged by Laura to push forward towards Eden. However, upon arrival, they discover it is a refuge for fleeing children away from the grasp of Transigen.

Logan learns of the dire fate facing mutant children under the control of Dr. Zander Rice. This revelation deepens the group's resolve to confront the threats posed by Transigen and to protect Laura and the other children.

In a dramatic turn, X-24 attacks the group as tensions escalate. Logan, now mortally wounded, fights valiantly to protect Laura and the other children from this clone that embodies his dark legacy.

In a poignant moment, Logan urges Laura to reject the path of violence that had defined his life. His final words carry immense weight as he hopes she will forge her own future away from the horrors he has faced.

Following Logan's death, the children, united in their grief, honor his legacy with a burial. They mark his grave with an 'X,' symbolizing the last of the X-Men's valiant spirit as they commit to escaping their troubled past.
