The twins’ lives took a drastic turn following a heart-wrenching phone call that Bill received from Brady’s partner, Bolger, revealing that his brother had met a tragic end due to a crossbow arrow. Overwhelmed with grief, Bill immediately traveled to Tulsa, where he fortuitously met a Jewish orthodontist on his flight—a chance encounter that would unknowingly set in motion a series of life-altering events.

Upon reaching Tulsa, Bill was wrongly identified as Brady by rival marijuana dealers, resulting in a brutal attack that left him bloodied and barely conscious. When he finally awoke, he was shocked to find that Brady was very much alive. The entire incident had been orchestrated by Brady himself, who had drawn Bill into a sinister trap.

As Bill grappled with his reluctance, Brady’s persuasive skills, further galvanized by a serendipitous meet-up with local poet Janet, gradually won him over. As Bill assumed his brother’s identity, their mother unwittingly became part of the deception, complicating their already fraught relationship.
