I don't feel at home in this world anymore.

The film kicks off on what seems to be the worst day of Ruth’s life, portrayed by Melanie Lynskey. Working as an assistant in a medical facility, she faces a series of unfortunate events: a patient unexpectedly dies, and upon returning home, she discovers not only a mess from a dog in her yard but also that her house has been burglarized. These relentless misfortunes start to drive her to the brink of madness, pushing her to embrace her new role as a ‘poop vigilante’.

In her quest for justice, Ruth confronts the dog’s owner, Tony, played by Elijah Wood. Together, they embark on a frantic adventure to track down the person responsible for the burglary of Ruth’s home. As they navigate through this darkly comedic journey, they encounter a kaleidoscope of eccentric characters, each more bizarre than the last. Their mission is to recover not just Ruth’s stolen computer but also her mother’s cherished silver dinnerware.
