Prof. Krishna Pillai leads a happy family life with his wife Sarada and their four children. They enjoy a close, loving household where daily life centers on family togetherness. Their neighbor Indira Thampi and her niece Asha Thampi live nearby, setting up connections that will soon complicate the peace.

Unnikrishnan, the college team coach and a family friend, attends special classes at the professor's house. He shares a love of music with Sarada, which Asha misreads as a romantic interest. This misreading stirs tension that foreshadows later conflicts.

Asha pretends to be in love with the professor as revenge for Unnikrishnan. At first the professor is hesitant, but he slowly starts to like her and agrees to go out with her. He begins taking her to night clubs, which worries Sarada.

Sarada informs Indira about Asha's behavior, prompting a scolding from Indira. Indira confronts Asha about the situation, exposing the gossip and disapproval. In response, Asha leaves Indira's house to seek her own path.

At the YWCA hostel, Unnikrishnan barges into Asha's room seeking clarity about her relationship with the professor. Asha refuses to give a clear answer, keeping him in the dark. He reports his concerns to Sarada, amplifying the family tension.

The professor begins distancing himself from Sarada, which triggers a confrontation when she talks to him in front of their children. The rift in the marriage deepens as trust erodes. Sarada's confrontation highlights the growing crisis.

The professor leaves home and takes a room in a hotel to impose distance from the family. He calls his wife and children but hesitates to speak with Sarada directly. This separation marks a low point in their marriage.

One day, the professor brings Asha to his hotel room and tries to get intimate with her. Asha is uncomfortable and resists, trying to pull away. Unnikrishnan arrives, confronts Asha, and beats her, pulling the dangerous situation into the open.

Overcome with shame, the professor drinks heavily on the beach in his car. Unnikrishnan spots him and brings him back to his home to recover. The next morning, they both attempt to repair the aftermath and begin reconciliation with the family.

After the ordeal, the professor reconciles with Sarada and their children. The family resolves to move forward, choosing forgiveness and togetherness. The story ends on a note of redemption and renewed family bonds.
