Kadaikutty Singam

Thirty years ago, Ranasingam wanted a son but kept having daughters with his first wife, Vanavan Madevi. To fulfill his wish, he sought a new bride, Panchavan Madhevi, to beget a male heir. His family was emotionally strained due to these repeated pregnancies and their gender outcomes.

Ranasingam marries Panchavan Madhevi, who becomes pregnant five months later. During this time, his eldest daughter, Mangamma Rani, also becomes pregnant out of wedlock, leading to family arrangements for her marriage. Panchavan gives birth to a girl, while Mangamma Rani has a boy, creating emotional distress within the family.

Vanavan Madevi becomes pregnant again and miraculously gives birth to a son, Gunasingam, after eight years. Gunasingam grows up as a content and happy farmer, practicing natural farming and living peacefully with his family.

Gunasingam falls in love with Kannukiniyal 'Iniya', the daughter of a wealthy man, Thillainayagam. Despite family resistance, he seeks to marry her, but must first convince his sisters that he cannot marry their daughters, creating tension within the family.

Iniya's family resists the marriage, and her uncle Kodiyarasu, who was jailed for Gunasingam's work, seeks revenge by planning to kill him. Chellamma, Gunasingam's relative, attempts suicide upon learning of the marriage plans but is saved, indicating the ongoing family conflicts.

Panchavan, feeling injustice in her treatment, leaves Ranasingam's house. She considers revenge by marrying Chellamma to Kodiyarasu, who accepts, worsening familial bonds. This leads to further tensions and disputes within the family.

Gunasingam organizes a gathering to reconcile his relatives during his grandmother's function. His heartfelt speech convinces the family to accept his love for Iniya. Kodiyarasu is beaten and sent back to prison, signaling a turning point in family unity.

Despite familial tensions, Gunasingam's relatives amend their disputes, and the entire family attends his wedding to Iniya. The event marks a resolution to many of the familial conflicts and a step toward unity.

One year after their marriage, Gunasingam and Iniya welcome a daughter into their family. This signifies the continuation of their lineage and happiness after overcoming numerous challenges.

Gunasingam and Iniya decide to adopt permanent birth control to prevent past family struggles from recurring. Their decision reflects a desire for stability and peace in their future.
