Smith and Stella head to college together and attend a party where Stella hooks up with a girl named Lorelei. Smith recognizes Lorelei from his dreams, deepening his sense that something supernatural is at play. The night foreshadows the mounting tension around Lorelei.

Later, London, a British student, picks up Smith and they have sex. London makes it clear she does not want a relationship beyond sex. Smith’s disappointment highlights his confusion about desire, danger, and his destined role.

Stella, Oliver, and the perpetually stoned 'Messiah' pursue the van. Oliver demonstrates powers akin to Lorelei, but uses them for good, while the Messiah’s seemingly idle persona doubles as a protective cover. The trio’s pursuit frames a clash between protective forces and predestined doom.

The animal-masked group is revealed to be Thor, Rex, and Hunter, tasked with delivering London and Smith to a secret underground shelter to survive dozens of nuclear bombs. Non-cult members will be annihilated, and the cult plans to seize the world with Smith as its leader. The stakes escalate as the group fights to reach safety.

The Messiah tries to run the van off the road as two vehicles head toward a bridge that is out. Smith's father presses a button and the Earth explodes, ending the cult's plans in a cataclysmic finale. The finale leaves the fate of the remaining characters uncertain but definitively tragic.
