In the hills of Dehradun, Shekhar Malhotra (Rajput School) narrowly defeats Ratanlal Sharma (Model College) in the marathon at the annual inter-school sports meet. Ramlal gives money to Ratan to put away for the promised new cycle. Ratan hands the funds to his younger brother, Sanjay, who is carefree and unpredictable. This transfer plants the seeds for later mischief as Sanjay uses the money to fund himself and Devika’s gifts.

Sanjay spots Devika, a new student at Queen's College, who already resents Shekhar. He uses her to get back at him, fabricating tales of his family's wealth to impress her. Devika is drawn in by his false stories and they begin dating.

Devika genuinely falls for Sanjay and they start dating. He continues to impress her with expensive gifts bought using the money meant for Ratan's cycle, deepening the deception. The relationship becomes a visible sign of Sanjay’s hidden mischief.

At the inter-school dance competition, Devika’s suspicions grow when she sees Sanjay performing with the Model College group. The truth about his wealth is revealed, and she dumps him the next day. Sanjay’s ego flares and he lashes out at Shekhar’s friends.

Ratan intercedes as the conflict escalates between Sanjay and Shekhar’s group after the dance. He tries to diffuse the situation, but tensions simmer just below the surface. The atmosphere grows tense around the school grounds.

The confrontation continues the next morning when Ratan trains alone and is ambushed by Shekhar’s group. He is struck on the head with a stick and falls off a cliff. Rescuers rush him to hospital as his condition grows serious.

In the hospital, Ratan enters a coma but eventually awakens. He recovers from the head injury but is ruled out of competing in the next cycle race. The accident marks a major setback for both rivals and for their families.

Sanjay resolves to compete in Ratan’s stead, buoyed by the support of his tomboyish best friend Anjali who secretly admires him. Seeing her devotion, he begins to reciprocate, strengthening their bond as he prepares for the race. The decision shifts the focus of the contest to the new challenger.

During the race, Shekhar and Sanjay tangle, causing both to fall off course. They regroup at the back of the field, then stage a dramatic comeback, overtaking the others as the laps wind down. The crowd holds its breath as the two close the gap toward the finish.

In a tense finish, Sanjay edges out Shekhar at the finish line to claim the victory. It is Sanjay’s coming-of-age moment, rewarded with the trophy and validation for the Model College team. The win reshapes the balance of pride between families and schools.

Model College erupts in celebration at Sanjay’s victory, marking their first major triumph in years. Ramlal beams with pride as his son reaches adulthood and demonstrates responsibility. The crowd recognizes the shift in fortunes for the underdog team.
