Jakob's Wife

In a small town, Anne is married to Jakob, a minister, and their quiet life begins. Tom Low, a man from Anne's past, arrives to work on a mill project, and Anne plans to meet him. Tom is surprised she ended up with Jakob and adopted a more devout life, foreshadowing a clash between her past impulses and her present commitments.
