Twenty-seven years after the Losers Club initially defeated Pennywise, the malevolent entity resurfaces in Derry, Maine. This resurgence is ignited by the brutal attack on Adrian Mellon, who falls victim to the wrath of homophobic teens.

Mike Hanlon, the last member of the Losers Club still living in Derry, reaches out to his friends scattered across the globe. He calls them back home, burdened by the tragic news of Stanley's suicide, which serves as a painful reminder of their unfinished business.

Upon their return, the group struggles to remember the events of their childhood. Mike begins to refresh their memories, which only heightens their anxiety and fear of the looming threat of Pennywise.

Beverly shares her ominous visions of doom with the group, alluding to the serious dangers they face. This revelation prompts hesitation among Richie and Eddie, who must reconsider their motivations for fighting Pennywise.

In a horrifying incident, Pennywise targets a young girl during a seemingly innocent baseball game, leading to her untimely demise. This event starkly illustrates the evil that has resurfaced in Derry and reinforces the urgency for the Losers to act.

Mike reveals the Native American legend of the 'Ritual of Chüd,' which could be crucial in defeating Pennywise. They learn that they must utilize treasured artifacts from their past in order to harness the strength needed to confront their foe.

Each member of the Losers Club embarks on personal journeys to confront their past. Bill rediscovers a paper sailboat, while Beverly faces Pennywise's grotesque form during a haunted visit to her childhood home.

Pennywise's influence resurrects Henry Bowers from a mental institution, allowing him to unleash havoc upon the Losers. He attacks Eddie at their hotel before seeking out Mike at the library, escalating the tension among the group.

Richie faces Pennywise once again at a carnival, where the stakes rise dramatically when a young boy's life hangs in the balance. Richie confronts his fears as he struggles to protect an innocent life from the lurking horror.

Bill is devastated after failing to save the young boy, plunging him into deep despair. Seeking solace, he makes his way to the infamous Neibolt House to unite with the other Losers in preparation for their ultimate confrontation with Pennywise.

Venturing into the ominous sewers beneath Derry, the group attempts the Ritual of Chüd at a site closely tied to Pennywise's origin. Armed with memories and artifacts, they prepare to face the creature that has haunted them for so long.

As the ritual unfolds, each Loser is ensnared in their own nightmarish visions orchestrated by Pennywise. Bill, Ben, and Beverly grapple with their deepest fears while Richie finds himself paralyzed by the clown's malicious presence.

In a heroic act, Eddie sacrifices himself to save Richie from Pennywise. As Eddie delays the monster's pursuit, he reveals the crucial tactic of choking its avatar to temporarily defeat the creature, a lesson from their past.

The Losers, shaken yet determined, unite to confront Pennywise one last time. As they overpower the monstrous entity, the façade falls away, revealing a weak figure which Mike takes advantage of, ultimately destroying Pennywise's heart.

In the aftermath of their victory, the Losers begin to heal. They mourn Eddie, find new connections, and each member sets off on their own path, forever changed but bonded by their shared experiences and challenges overcome.
