The film opens with the murder of 52-year-old ASI Vinod Kumar, triggering a high-profile investigation. Three colleagues—ASI John, CPO Bineesh, and SCPO Sandeep—are revealed as suspects due to long-standing animosity toward Vinod. The story sets up a complex web of motives and loyalties at Vagamon police station.

Bineesh narrates an incident where he caught Vinod leaving a lodge room after raping a 17-year-old girl, in an inebriated state. The confession exposes Vinod's violent tendencies and deepens the suspicion surrounding him. This revelation adds moral ambiguity to the case and affects how the investigators view Vinod's character.

Pramod is a recovered alcoholic who is sober but estranged from his wife Sreeja and their daughter. Sreeja moves to Mumbai with their newborn, seeking stability away from his past. The rift in the family foreshadows the brothers' divergent paths in life.

The twins grow up under an abusive, absent father; a violent fight between the parents leads to their separation. Vinod is forcibly taken by their father, while Pramod stays with their mother. This early fracture seeds deep resentment that shapes their adult choices.

Years later, their father is killed by several assailants after attempting to molest an underage girl. This brutal act cements a violent legacy in the family and further fuels Vinod's anger and the cycle of violence.

In adulthood, Pramod becomes an honest DYSP, while Vinod rises to the level of a streetwise ASI. Their opposing temperaments and methods create ongoing tension between the brothers, despite their shared history.

DYSP Satheesh, who has close ties to Vinod, leads the homicide investigation and clues in on Pramod as a suspect due to their troubled past. Malini, Vinod's lover, provides a testimony that sways initial opinions about Vinod's character. The case becomes entangled in personal history and loyalties.

Pramod takes over the investigation and discovers camera footage from a media crew showing two children playing cricket with a dog near a field. When he tracks them down, they reveal that Vinod actually killed himself by firing three shots into his chest, witnessed by the child who picked up the cricket ball. The evidence reframes the death from a straightforward murder to a suicide driven by guilt.

Pramod learns that Vinod was watching a music reality show just before his death. He spots Sreeja in the audience and realizes Swetha—their grown daughter—is one of the participants. This discovery links Vinod's crime to Swetha, the girl Vinod previously raped.

Pramod deduces that Vinod raped his own niece, Swetha, and could not bear the guilt, choosing suicide. The revelation reframes Vinod's death as an act of guilt rather than a straightforward homicide. The case thus exposes a cycle of abuse within the family.

After Vinod's death, Sreeja tries to reconnect with Pramod. He refuses to reveal himself to Swetha and instructs Sreeja not to tell her or show her his face, because Swetha has unknowingly seen Vinod's face on the lodge night. This creates a barrier of secrecy around the family trauma.

Pramod accepts responsibility for Vinod's actions, their father's crimes, and his own past deeds toward Sreeja. He carries the heavy burden of atonement, with Swetha remaining unaware of the truth about her father and Vinod. The story ends on a somber note of remorse and secrecy.
