Incubus

Marc is a young soldier seeking healing for battle wounds at the sacred well, accompanied by his sister Arndis. He is portrayed as morally upright, resilient, and capable of sincere affection, especially toward Kia before she reveals her true nature. His faith and sense of duty guide him as he faces temptation and the lurking darkness. When the incubus threatens him and Arndis, he prays, makes the sign of the cross, and fights to protect both his sister and his evolving love.

Kia is a prominent young succubus who resents the routine of her duties and longs for something more exciting as prey. She uses charm and deception to lure Marc away from the sacred water and toward the sea, hoping to exploit his feelings. Her power creates a tension between darkness and the possibility of love, and she struggles with the idea that a pure soul could threaten Hell’s order. Ultimately, her attraction to Marc challenges her allegiance to darkness.

Amael is Kia's sister, who warns against the danger of pure souls and schemes revenge against Marc. She summons an incubus to attack the lovers and to punish Arndis, underscoring the ruthlessness of demonic schemes. Her calculated cruelty contrasts with Kia's conflicted longing, highlighting the film’s theme of corruption through supernatural manipulation.

Arndis is Marc's sister who accompanies him to the sacred water seeking healing. She becomes blind during an eclipse and searches for Marc in a disoriented world. She falls victim to the incubus and is murdered, embodying innocence crushed by demonic violence and serving as a catalyst for Marc’s resolve and Kia’s ultimate transformation.

The incubus is summoned by Amael to assault Marc and corrupt Arndis, representing the malevolent force behind the village’s darkness. The demon’s violent acts propel the confrontation between faith and temptation, and its later return underscores the stubbornness of evil in the story’s world.
