The Lost Princess (2025) Plot Summary & Ending Explained

At the end of The Lost Princess, Alec’s journey into the mystical and ancestral realm reaches its climax as he delves deeper into the castle’s haunted history and his own subconscious. Through the visions brought on by the Ayahuasca ritual and the film’s dreamlike storytelling, Alec reconnects with Hana’s spirit and the tragic love story tied to the castle. It becomes clear that their souls are eternally linked, transcending time and space. In the final scenes, Alec is faced with a choice: to fully embrace the magical legacy of the castle and continue protecting Hana’s memory or to return to his real life, leaving her ghostly presence behind.

He chooses to stay within the mystical realm, symbolically claiming his place among the ghosts and ancestors who have long haunted the castle. This decision signifies his acceptance of the spiritual ties that bind him to Hana and the land, finally freeing her spirit and allowing her to find peace. The film ends with Alec living in a liminal space between worlds, embodying the film’s themes of love, legacy, and the importance of honoring the past. In this way, the story emphasizes that some loves are so profound that they transcend death, and that true redemption comes from acknowledging and embracing our ancestral roots.
