Ice Queen

In the Amazon Rainforest, a well-preserved woman dating from the Ice Age is found encased in amber and loaded for study. Dr. Thomas Goddard oversees her care during the flight to a military facility. A malfunction in the heating system chills her tube and awakens her, transforming her into the Ice Queen.

At a mountain ski resort that has closed for the week, Johnny has a one-night stand with Elaine, who will be applying for a job the next day. The sparse staff includes Johnny's crush Tori, Ed (the owner), and friends Devlin, Jessie, and Audrey. The encounter foreshadows the connections that will be tested by disaster.

While the plane glides over the mountains, the pilot Mac holds Goddard at gunpoint, intending to sell the specimen for ransom. The Ice Queen awakens and kills Mac, then causes the plane to crash into the mountain, triggering an avalanche. The crash traps the survivors and sets the stage for a brutal containment at the resort.

The plane slides into the hotel, trapping Goddard and the Ice Queen inside, along with Johnny, Tori, Elaine, Audrey, Devlin, and Jessie. Ed remains in the parking lot, separated from the main group. The confined space becomes a battlefield as the Ice Queen asserts her power.

Goddard encounters the survivors and explains that heating the Ice Queen enough will kill her. The revelation creates a volatile plan that pits scientific experimentation against the group’s desperate need to survive. The debate over mercy versus method intensifies the tension.

Johnny later comes face to face with the Ice Queen in the maze of hotel corridors. She displays a disturbing attraction toward him, complicating the moral calculus of how to stop her. The encounter heightens the peril as she closes in on the others.

The Ice Queen attacks Elaine in the kitchen, triggering a chaotic confrontation as the others attempt to intervene. The creature escapes with injuries but remains a deadly threat. The attack escalates the urgency to reach a safe route.

Audrey and Goddard later locate the Ice Queen in the dining room. Audrey attempts to fight her, but is killed, and Goddard, focused on his experimental goals, tacitly encourages the Ice Queen to continue her rampage. The moral lines blur as survival instincts clash with scientific ambition.

The Ice Queen wounds Goddard and then relentlessly pursues Johnny, Tori, and Elaine through the hotel. They scramble to find a route to safety, aware that any misstep could mean death. The chase emphasizes the creature’s relentless malevolence.

The trio makes a push toward the attic in a bid to reach the surface, but Elaine is killed in the pursuit. Johnny and Tori manage to reach the exterior and reunite with Ed, leaving the fate of the Ice Queen unresolved inside the hotel. The survivors' hopes hinge on a fragile exit from the nightmare.

The Ice Queen follows the survivors and is lured into a hot tub by Johnny, who then scalds her to death. The immediate threat within the hotel is eliminated, and the building's corridors fall silent after the brutal struggle. The action culminates in a macabre, heat-driven end for the monster.

Johnny, Tori, and Ed walk away from the ruined hotel, momentarily free of danger. Unbeknownst to them, Goddard has reached the surface and takes a sample of the Ice Queen's remains, intending to clone her later. The ending hints at a possible consequence beyond the immediate disaster.
