Do It - One!

Alexei Gavrilov is conscripted into service and arrives at the recruiting station. Sergeant Shipov shoves him, and Gavrilov demands an apology, pushing back against the aggression. This early confrontation seeds a lasting resentment in Shipov toward Gavrilov.

Shipov pleads with the Marines officer to transfer Gavrilov to his own unit, pretending Gavrilov is his countryman. The officer approves the transfer, and Gavrilov ends up in a motorized infantry regiment where Shipov serves. The switch moves Gavrilov into a harsher environment under Shipov’s influence.

Gavrilov enters the motorized infantry regiment and encounters dedovshchina, where the veteran 'grandfathers' force recruits to do chores, mock them, and steal money at night. Shipov immediately reinforces hazing, making the new recruits endure push-ups and learn the 'main points' of the practice. Gavrilov resolves not to submit to brute force and stays wary of his superiors.

Amid the oppressive climate, Gavrilov meets Private Botsu and they form a friendship. The shared strain of hazing strengthens their bond, setting the stage for mutual support against the unit’s abuses. Their alliance becomes a small beacon of solidarity in a hostile environment.

During a skirmish in the dining room, Sergeant Stepanov defends Gavrilov and other recruits from the aggressive hazers. This act of defense shows a rare moment of solidarity within the unit. Shipov’s resentment grows as he witnesses Stepanov’s interference on behalf of the conscripts.

Five unknown soldiers attack Stepanov after dismissal, beating him. Shipov threatens Stepanov with a disciplinary battalion if he interferes again. The threat deepens the climate of fear and tests the loyalty of those involved in the hazing system.

The 'grandfathers' order Botsu to count the days until demobilization; Botsu refuses, prompting a cruel provocation. Yefreytor Kabanov steals money from one of the skulls and plants it in Botsu's tunic to turn everyone against him. The incident amplifies paranoia and mistrust within the unit.

During an examination, Shipov pulls the money from Botsu's tunic in front of everyone, turning the others against Botsu. The humiliation reinforces Shipov's control over the group and deepens the rift with Gavrilov and Botsu. The unit's atmosphere grows increasingly volatile as grudges escalate.

Late at night, several skulls grab Ivan and drag him into the boiler room for brutal humiliation. Stepanov observes but hesitates to intervene, realizing the dangers of crossing Shipov. Gavrilov, seeking his friend, enters the boiler room and is himself subjected to a beating.

Amid the chaos in and around the boiler room, Gavrilov seizes a PK machine gun from the weapons cabinet. He returns to confront the hazing leaders, forcing the grandfathers to perform push-ups and ordering Shipov to do them faster. The act marks a dramatic, risky assertion of resistance against the system.

An alarm sounds as the confrontation escalates, and guards rush toward the boiler room. Gavrilov places the machine gun on the floor and makes his way toward the exit, dissolving the immediate standoff for the moment. The act leaves Shipov and the others stunned by Gavrilov's audacious intervention.
