Hell’s Highway

A man posing as a priest offers Lucindia holy water on a Death Valley highway, then murders her with a stabbing when she drinks. He buries the body and builds a crude crucifix over the grave. As the priest prays, Lucindia returns from the grave and bludgeons him with a shovel, screaming 'El Diablo!'

In a separate desert encounter, Lucindia robs, castrates, and murders a motorist. She leaves the scene with her brutal toll and continues her roaming march through the valley. The act sets the stage for the chaos that follows the next day.

Eric, Chris, Monique, and Sarah, four college students on a road trip to Redondo Beach, spot Lucindia at a cluster of crosses and invite her into their car. She brags about torturing dead friends, then sexually assaults Sarah and attempts to shoot her. The others intervene and knock her out of the vehicle.

The next day, Lucindia, who had just harmed others, catches up with the four students. They drive recklessly and end up beheading and disemboweling her, ending her threat for the moment.

Eric discovers Chris's brother's cellphone and a camcorder battery on Lucindia's corpse. The group uses the gear to watch the last minutes of a recorded camera. The footage reveals their friends were killed during a botched séance.

The camcorder's footage tells of a settler couple trapped in the valley. To save his wife, the husband kills himself, but the wife consumes his flesh and curses God, seeking salvation from the Devil in exchange for victims. The tale hints at a supernatural bargain that feeds Lucindia's hunger.

When the video ends, Lucindia materializes again and crashes into the group, mortally wounding Chris with a chainsaw. The students scramble to escape as the danger returns to the survivors.

The students manage to drive away but soon run out of gas, allowing Lucindia to close the gap again. Sarah, Eric, and Monique sprint to put distance between themselves and the pursuing killer.

In a brutal confrontation, a second Lucindia corners them and Monique is murdered. In the ensuing chaos, Sarah accidentally shoots and kills Eric, a devastating turn for the survivors.

Two government operatives intervene, saving Sarah from the remaining Lucindia and capturing her, ending her immediate threat. The authorities take control of the situation, though the mystery of the clones remains unresolved.

Sarah is taken to a military installation where staff reveal there were four equally delusional Lucindias created by cloning and accelerated growth experiments. They plan to make Sarah the next test subject in their project.

A wounded Lucindia bursts in, and Sarah shouts 'I told you the Devil would come back!' as Lucindia opens fire with a shotgun. The ensuing explosion presumably kills Lucindia and everyone else in the room.
