The film opens in the beautiful city of Turin, Italy, where we meet Filippo, a young Carabinieri clerk. Filippo is deeply focused on mastering helicopter navigation using a flight simulator, showcasing his ambition and determination.

During a critical training session, Filippo inadvertently crashes the virtual helicopter after ascending too rapidly. His instructor imparts a valuable lesson about the real dangers of helicopter navigation, emphasizing the importance of understanding limitations in such high-stakes situations.

We are introduced to Philippa, who is determined to carry out a bombing in the office of a high-ranking businessman. Her meticulous planning aims to address deep-rooted issues related to drug abuse in the community, but her intentions lead to unforeseen consequences.

Shortly after Philippa leaves the building, the bomb unexpectedly detonates in the elevator due to a janitor emptying the trash. This tragic event results in the loss of four innocent lives, underscoring the unintended fallout from her actions.

The Carabinieri apprehend Philippa, bringing her into custody at the station where Filippo works. During the interrogation, she reveals her identity as an English teacher and shares the tragic story of her students who died from drug overdoses related to a local cartel.

Philippa reveals her earlier attempts to alert the Carabinieri about the drug ring leaders, illustrating her desperation for justice. After feeling disregarded in her pleas for help, she has turned to desperate measures, specifically targeting the cartel's leader.

While translating Philippa's heartfelt confession, Filippo becomes infatuated with her story. In a bold move, he assists her in escaping custody, demonstrating his growing attachment and willingness to risk everything for her.

After escaping, Philippa successfully confronts and eliminates the drug lord responsible for her students' deaths. This act solidifies her resolve and transforms her into a fugitive, leading her and Filippo into an uncertain future.

The couple flees to the serene countryside to find solace with one of Philippa's friends. In this moment of tranquility, they share their feelings and admit their love for each other—a brief respite from the chaos that surrounds them.

Just as they begin to settle into their refuge, law enforcement begins to close in on their location. This mounting tension forces them to take drastic action to escape the impending capture.

In a daring move, Filippo and Philippa commandeer a Carabinieri helicopter stationed on the grounds. As they take off, they are met with gunfire, heightening the stakes and underscoring the perilous nature of their escape.

With bullets flying around them, Filippo and Philippa ascend higher into the sky. Their escape leaves the officers on the ground powerless, watching helplessly as the couple disappears into the clouds, symbolizing their leap into an uncertain future.
