Harley, a homeless heroin addict navigating the turbulent streets of New York City, finds herself rejected by another fellow addict, Ilya, due to her recent betrayal. In her desperation to reignite their connection, she provocatively asks Ilya whether he would still love her if she passed away, to which he callously responds with a yes. Driven by a mix of despair and the influence of Ilya, Harley buys razor blades with her begging earnings and attempts to take her own life. It is only Ilya’s abrupt panic that leads him to call for help, resulting in Harley’s admission to a psychiatric hospital.

Once discharged, she reconnects with her friend Mike, a small-time drug dealer, and meets another man named Skully. However, annoyed by Skully’s persistent advances, Harley quickly distances herself from him. As she stays with Mike, she relies on him for heroin, deepening her dependency. Tensions erupt when Ilya and Mike confront each other in a park, resulting in Ilya injuring Mike’s hand. During Mike’s recovery, Harley confesses her lingering feelings for Ilya, triggering Mike’s frustration and leading him to leave.

One fateful night, Harley receives disturbing news: Ilya is unconscious from a drug overdose at a nearby fast-food restaurant. Rushed by a tide of emotions, she arrives to find him and manages to revive him, stirring a passionate reconciliation between the two. The couple boards a bus to Miami in hopes of a fresh start. However, while Harley drifts off into sleep, Ilya makes a devastating decision to disembark alone at a vacant house. The flickering candlelight ignites a fire, tragically claiming Ilya’s life as he is engulfed in flames.

Harley awakens on the bus to find Ilya missing, her heart shattering from the loss.
