In the film’s climax, Victor Gradov’s plan to destabilize NATO and destroy its alliance comes to a head. Her goal is to dismantle NATO for her own political gain, fearing that the alliance makes the U.S. too dependent on its allies. Throughout the story, it’s shown that she manipulated events from behind the scenes, including the betrayal of her close aide, Simone Bradshaw, and her working with Gradov in a conspiracy to kill President Will Derringer.

As the story reaches its perilous final moments, Gradov launches a brutal attack on the NATO summit in Trieste, killing the acting US president and the British prime minister. However, Will, Sam, and Noel fight back fiercely, managing to defeat Gradov and his mercenaries. Their heroics restore hope and unity, allowing NATO to survive the looming threat. The film ends with Will and Sam sharing a casual fish and chips meal, and news reports confirm that NATO is still intact, and reforms are being implemented to promote transparency and cooperation among member states.

Meanwhile, in the mid-credits scene, Noel meets Marty Comer, a CIA agent who appears to be alive despite earlier danger and suspicion. Marty is seen boasting about his exploits, but Noel hints she knows more about his true role. This suggests that Marty might still be involved in shady dealings, possibly setting up for a future sequel, leaving questions about who can be trusted in the complex world of espionage. The ending emphasizes the themes of unity overcoming division, and even amidst betrayal and chaos, the importance of perseverance and alliance in maintaining global order.
