Ghatak: Lethal

Before Kashi's arrival in Mumbai, resident Sachdev tries to lead a revolt against Katya. Katya ruthlessly crushes the uprising, killing Sachdev. The assault shatters Malti and drives her to madness, spotlighting Katya's brutal hold over the colony.

Kashi travels with his father Shambhu Nath to Mumbai seeking medical help. They stay with Shambhu's elder brother Shiv Nath, finding shelter in the bustling city. The trip sets the stage for new dangers as they enter Katya's territory.

In the Mumbai colony, Kashi meets Gauri and is drawn to her. Their budding attraction gives him a personal stake in the community beyond familial ties. The romance threads through the looming conflict with Katya.

Kashi beats up Katya's goons who rough up Malti, defending her and the colony. This act marks him as a foe to Katya and his brothers. Katya's wrath sets off a chain of retaliation that will test Kashi's resolve.

Shambhu Nath is diagnosed with terminal throat cancer, and doctors say he has only days left. The news casts a pall over the family and tightens Kashi's sense of duty. The illness seeds the emotional motive for the coming confrontations.

Katya returns the humiliation by making Shambhu bark like a dog in front of the colony. The act wounds Kashi deeply and fuels his determination to resist Katya's tyranny. The scene also exposes the colony's simmering fear and dependence on Katya's power.

Kashi attempts to disperse Shambhu's ashes at the Ghat, but Katya's brothers and goons attack a police van. In the melee, Kashi kills the attackers and continues toward Katya's home. This act solidifies his vow to end Katya's tyranny.

Kashi arrives at Katya's home, where he kills Jeena, leaving Katya and one other brother alive. He is captured again in the process, underscoring the brutal stalemate between Katya's gang and Kashi's vengeance. The struggle is brutal and personal, with the colony watching closely.

Gauri steps forward, rallying the crowd to challenge Katya's dominance. Kashi frees himself from his shackles and beats Katya to death, signaling the turning point in the struggle. The mob joins the melee, decimating Katya's remaining supporters.

Kashi makes Katya bark like Shambhu and then kills him in front of the residents, but his rage overwhelms him as he continues beating the corpse. His nephew then brings Shambhu's ashes from the crematory rites, which brings him back to his senses. The moment blends brutal justice with a humbling emotional return.

In the aftermath, the colony gains its freedom and safety at last. Kashi has sacrificed almost everything he loved, including his family and friends, leaving him emotionally emptied. The film closes on a bittersweet note, with the colony's relief contrasting with Kashi's personal tragedy.
