Fear Street: Prom Queen

The film opens in 1988, with Lori Granger revealing the curse that surrounds her name. People believe she will either die or become a killer, a foreboding statement about the events that will unfold that night.

Two days before prom night, Shadyside High School buzzes with excitement. Lori is a candidate for prom queen, competing against the school’s popular student, Tiffany, who delights in tormenting her.

In class, the girls discuss their prom plans and future aspirations. Lori confides in her best friend Megan about her writing dreams, while Tiffany spreads rumors about Lori’s family history to undermine her confidence.

Lori works at a local diner where Tiffany and her clique mock her in front of customers. Tension rises as Lori and Tiffany’s complicated relationship plays out in public, further intensifying the rivalry for prom.

Christy, a rebellious candidate, is attacked in an alley by a masked killer. This brutal encounter sets the tone for the violent events that will soon unfold during prom night.

On the day of prom, the candidates undergo a practice run. Lori is increasingly anxious about winning prom queen amidst the backdrop of ominous occurrences and violent tensions with Tiffany.

During prom, Linda and her boyfriend sneak away to a classroom, only to meet a gruesome fate. Linda emerges covered in blood, heightening the fear as the masked killer begins his rampage.

Megan executes a prank at the prom that backfires on Lori, causing a rift in their friendship. Meanwhile, the atmosphere becomes increasingly chaotic as the killer continues his spree.

Debbie and her boyfriend Judd are also murdered as they find themselves in a dimly lit basement. Debbie’s accidental electrocution completes a horrifying night that feeds into Lori's rising anxiety.

During a dance-off, Lori triumphs over Tiffany, leading to further humiliation for her rival. However, the mood shifts drastically when the killer strikes again, forcing everyone into a panic.

As the killing spree continues, Lori’s nightmarish evening culminates when she loses her new-found ally Tyler to the killer. Desperation sets in as Lori realizes the extent of the slaughter.

Lori is crowned prom queen but struggles to alert the crowd about the killer among them. The killers’ bloody intentions are revealed when Tiffany’s boyfriend is also brutally attacked.

After a final confrontation, the killer is unmasked, shocking everyone when it is revealed that Dan, Tiffany’s father, was behind the murders. His twisted motive stems from wanting his daughter to win.

As police arrive and begin to arrest Dan, Lori and Megan pause in their moment of victory. They later confront a shocking truth when Tiffany’s mother, Nancy, is revealed as the second killer.

In a climactic struggle, Lori must confront both Tiffany and Nancy, leading to a brutal fight where she ultimately declares her strength. With a chilling final line, she embraces her true identity.
