Brothers Brian Samuel Davis and Matt Madison Burge invite a small circle of friends—Matt’s girlfriend Dora Denise Williamson and their pals Todd Chris Osborn and Elizabeth Roger Edwards—on a camping trip to their uncle Bob’s cabin in East Texas, setting the scene for a weekend that begins with ordinary camaraderie and quickly veers into something far more unsettling. As they drive along a forest road, Matt swerves after hearing something hit the undercarriage, and the group stops to investigate only to be greeted by a distant, unsettling chorus of loud animal cries. Undeterred, they push forward on foot when a fallen tree blocks the road, leads them to the cabin, and reveals a structure that is dilapidated and weathered by time. Deciding to ride out the night in their car, they settle in while the forest echoes with those eerie cries, a mood that grows more tense with every passing hour.
The next morning, Brian notices blood on the fender and a tuft of hair in the grille, a clue that something dangerous has brushed against them. He claims to have seen a Bigfoot silhouette sprinting along a nearby ridge, a claim his companions dismiss as stress and imagination. Yet Brian remains determined to document the phenomenon on film, secretly setting up several GoPro cameras around the cabin to capture any evidence. That night, the muffled screams resume, and the creature begins to harass the group in earnest. Through night-vision footage, Brian catches a glimpse of the roaring figure through a window, a moment that both unsettles and excites him as he clings to the hope of proof.
By daybreak the group faces a new obstacle: their car has been destroyed, leaving them stranded in the woods. A louder truth emerges as Matt and Brian reveal they never told their uncle Bob they were using the cabin and even went so far as to steal the keys, making rescue seem unlikely and support scarce. With little choice, Matt bikes to a stretch of woods that has cell reception in hopes of calling for help, but just as he connects with Bob, the Bigfoot attacks. Back at the cabin, the others improvise defenses, moving furniture to block doors and windows and discovering a trapdoor to the cellar, where Todd finds a shotgun. The tension escalates further when night falls and the Bigfoot slams into the cabin, killing Elizabeth before Todd fires, forcing the creature to retreat into the dark.
The remaining three decide to trek toward the road, clinging to hope as they navigate the treacherous terrain. In a grim turn, they manage to rescue the injured Matt from the creature’s den, and by dawn they take shelter in an abandoned RV. Bob finally calls from the cabin, newly arrived to check on them, but the plan to signal for help backfires when Todd lights fireworks—meant to draw Bob’s attention—only draws the Bigfoot’s wrath, which tears into the RV and pushes it over the edge of a hill with Brian, Matt, and Dora still inside. When Brian regains consciousness, he discovers his friends dead, and the devastated trio is reduced to Brian, Dora, and Matt’s lifeless forms lying in the wreckage. The scene shifts to Brian’s frantic escape as the creature closes in, dragging him toward the forest, a pursuit that ends with him awakening beside his deceased companions and noticing the carcass of a juvenile Bigfoot nearby, hinting that the collision with the car may have killed it unintentionally.
The horror peaks when the elder Bigfoot returns, and Uncle Bob arrives, shooting the creature in a bid to protect Brian. They flee toward Bob’s truck, but the relentless predator ambushes them again and takes down Bob in a final, brutal confrontation. Desperation overtakes caution as Brian seizes his uncle’s gun and runs, praying to a silent forest that the danger will end. He turns to face the Bigfoot with a tentative plea for mercy, lowering the rifle as the creature stares back in a moment that is almost human in its silent calculation. The Bigfoot hesitates, then vanishes into the trees, leaving Brian to pick up the pieces of a Halloween-night nightmare and stumble forward with the weight of loss, guilt, and a haunting question: how do you measure what you’ve survived when the wilderness has taken almost everything you held dear?
