The film opens with Siddharth in a coma on life support. It immediately threads two versions of the same man—one shown in colour and the other in black-and-white—hinting at a blurred line between dream and reality. This framing establishes the central tension of the story.

A Mumbai crime branch detective begins dissecting the incident that left Siddharth comatose. He searches the protagonist's belongings, uncovering scribbled notes and a mysterious pill that could hold the key to the mystery. This sets the investigation in motion.

Vicky, an usher with insomnia, encounters a drug dealer who offers Lucia pills. The dealer claims the pills let him dream the life he wants, but warns that the dreams may turn into nightmares if he stops taking them. The lure of a perfect life begins to destabilize his reality.

With Lucia's help, Vicky dreams of being a famous actor named Vignesh and surrounded by familiar faces. The dream-world is presented in black-and-white, contrasting with Vicky's real-life struggles. The allure of stardom masks a growing peril.

Within the dream life, Vignesh and Durai receive death threats from a mysterious figure. In the real world, Durai is pressed by a thug who wants to seize the theatre due to debt. The danger threads through both realities.

Divya tries to help Vicky improve his prospects by encouraging education and a better-paying job. He remains resistant, and her efforts seem to fail as his life remains tethered to the theatre and the uncertain romance. Her persistence highlights the tension between dreams and practical life.

Durai is killed by goons in reality, while Vicky pushes to keep the theatre running and later helps redecorate it with foreign friends. He even helps release Durai's film, keeping the project alive amid danger and debt. The line between Vicky's dream and his real actions becomes blurred.

In the dream, Durai is kidnapped and Vignesh rescues him with police help. After the rescue, Vignesh decides to fire Durai for safety reasons and ends his engagement with Divya, retreating from his entourage. The fallout deepens his isolation in the dream world.

Vignesh isolates himself in a trashed room, drifting further from reality. He notices the 'torch-shiner' Vicky peering at the theatre screen, signaling how close the two worlds have become. The boundary between dream and waking life grows increasingly fragile.

Back in the present, the detective runs a sting operation on the drug dealer to uncover the truth about Lucia pills. Divya is caught trying to take Vignesh off life support, and a TV interview replay reveals the real Vignesh's perspective and his color blindness. The pieces of truth start aligning.

The detective concludes that Vignesh chose the dream over reality by attempting suicide. Divya mourns near the comatose Vignesh as Vicky appears alive and married in his dream, with a daughter, suggesting a hoped-for life that cannot be.

Vignesh's health deteriorates and doctors attempt defibrillation. Simultaneously, Vicky's dream world begins to collapse as his life comes under threat, underscoring the peril of living inside a lucid dream. The two fates move toward a decisive convergence.

Vignesh wakes from the coma to the astonished faces of doctors, Divya, and Durai's circle. The film reveals that Vignesh was the real person and Vicky's life existed only as his illusion, resolving the narrative tension between dream and reality.
