On his way home, Edmond notices a tarot card reader and feels compelled to visit. Despite the ominous fortune he receives, he is intrigued and unsettled, foreshadowing the chaotic events that will follow.

Upon returning home, Edmond tells his wife that he is leaving her, stating that he no longer loves her. Confused and hurt, she asks him to bring back cigarettes, but Edmond is resolute about his decision to never return.

After leaving his wife, Edmond meets a man in an upscale bar who reveals his racist tendencies. The conversation spirals, triggering something dark within Edmond, and persuading him to seek a sexual encounter.
