Leslie Phillips plays an affable doctor who spends more time flirting with the hospital’s nurses than treating patients, much to the chagrin of the strict administrator (James Robertson Justice) who demands staff focus solely on work. His meddling sparks a series of comic mishaps, including arranging a romance between Justice and the prim new matron (Joan Sims) and his own futile attempts to win over the attractive physiotherapist.
