Along the way, one of their own, Gordo, falls victim to a zombie bite, and his girlfriend, Tracy, is forced to confront the heartbreaking decision to end his life post-reanimation.
Their journey grows increasingly perilous as they encounter formidable challenges, including a breakdown of their RV in a zombie-infested area. A deaf Amish man named Samuel comes to their rescue, but not before sacrificing himself after a fierce encounter. The group presses on, eventually reaching a fortified compound run by survivors, including a member of the National Guard. Here, Jason uploads his footage, and the group hopes for good news, receiving a message from Debra’s brother about their family’s whereabouts amidst the chaos.
The situation escalates further upon their arrival at Debra's house, where they are met with the terrifying sight of her reanimated family. Maxwell swiftly takes action, but their respite is short-lived, as they face the betrayal of National Guardsmen who rob them of their supplies. In a twist of fate, they seek refuge at Ridley's mansion, only to discover the gruesome fate that befell his family.
