Despicable Me 4

The film begins with Gru attending a reunion at his old school, Lychee Pas Bon. Here, he comes face-to-face with Maxime Le Mal, a childhood rival who feels wronged by Gru for stealing his act, setting the stage for their conflict.

Maxime boasts about his newfound powers, claiming he has harnessed cockroach parts to help him dominate the world. His ambitious plan revolves around transforming humanity into hybrids, especially targeting Gru's son, Gru Jr.

Despite being apprehended by the AVL along with Gru, Maxime, with the help of his girlfriend Valentina, escapes custody. This shocking turn of events raises the stakes for Gru and his family.

Silas Ramsbottom, the former head of the AVL, pays Gru a visit to discuss Maxime's escape. He emphasizes the need for Gru and his family to relocate to the town of Mayflower under new identities for their safety.

While most of the minions are absorbed into AVL custody, five are chosen to become the Megaminions, a special elite group with unique powers. However, their first mission goes awry, causing chaos in the city.

In their new community, Gru and his family meet the Prescotts, who have a villainess-in-training daughter named Poppy. Poppy recognizes Gru and forces him into a scheme to steal the school's mascot for her admission.

Gru reluctantly teams up with Poppy, two minions, and Gru Jr. to capture Lenny, the honey badger mascot. Their success quickly turns to dread as the school's principal uses surveillance footage to hint at Gru's presence.

The day after their mascot heist, principal Ubelschlecht invades Gru's new home demanding information about Gru's whereabouts. Following a frantic call from his daughter Margo, Gru and his family realize they must act fast.

Lucy decides to alert the AVL about the situation, enlisting the help of the Megaminions to thwart Maxime's sinister plans. Meanwhile, tragedy strikes when Gru Jr. slips away and is kidnapped by Maxime and Valentina.

In a climactic confrontation, Gru faces off against Maxime, who reveals that Gru Jr. has been turned into a cockroach hybrid. Gru manages to reach through to Gru Jr., helping him break free from Maxime's control.

With Gru Jr. now on his side, the transformed son turns against Maxime. The Megaminions, along with various animals and insects, aid in Maxime's ultimate defeat and capture, marking a significant victory for Gru.

After the crisis is averted, Gru's family returns home safely. Dr. Nefario, a longtime ally, works to restore Gru Jr. back to his normal self, ensuring that the family can finally breathe a sigh of relief.

In a surprising gesture, Gru visits Maxime in prison to resolve their differences. Their conversation allows for closure, and they make amends by singing together, highlighting their shared history and newfound respect.

The film concludes with Poppy celebrating her success at securing a spot at Lychee Pas Bon. This victory serves as a sweet conclusion to her storyline, demonstrating her growth and determination.
