Mickey Mouse, voiced by Walt Disney, stands by his car and gets ready for a sunny picnic with Minnie Mouse, voiced by Marcellite Garner. A rival named Mortimer Mouse, Sonny Dawson, rolls up in a sleek sport car and spots his old flame Minnie, prompting a tense clash of pride and humor.

Mortimer backs up, nearly plowing into Mickey’s car and sending it clattering into a tree. He greets Minnie with a wide smile, and she greets him back, clearly delighted by his arrival. What starts as a casual reunion quickly spirals into a petty contest as Mortimer needles Mickey, mocking him and fanning the flames of rivalry. He shakes hands with Mickey, only to reveal a fake arm sleeve, then disarms Mickey further by tugging at two buttons on his own shorts—buttons that are mysteriously attached to batteries. The result is a comic, zapping jolt that leaves Mickey fuming and Mortimer laughing at his expense. “Never a dull moment!” Mortimer cackles as the moment yanks Mickey’s mood from cheerful to furious.

Mickey’s car rumbles as a makeshift showdown kicks off: he tries to rattle Mortimer’s flashy vehicle to scare it away, but Mortimer’s car gives a loud, showy horn blast that forces Mickey and his vehicle to retreat behind a rock, flustered and hot under the collar. The trio then settles into their picnic, but the rivalry isn’t far beneath the surface. Mortimer, ever the showman, attempts to impress Minnie with a bullfighting stunt—he snatches the red picnic blanket to use as a cape and lures a nearby bull into a frenzy by taunting it. The bull thunders at the fence, anger rising as the moment escalates. Minnie claps for Mortimer’s bravado, while Mickey, growing more uneasy, accidentally breaks a teacup and mutters that Mortimer is a “perfect scream,” retreating to his car in a fit of jealousy. Minnie is startled by Mickey’s sudden jealousy, and the mood shifts from lighthearted to tense.

Mortimer’s bravado backfires when the gate of the bull’s pen is left open. He panics, drops the blanket over Minnie, and bolts in his sports car, leaving Minnie to fend for herself as the bull charges unchecked. Minnie climbs a tree, the blanket still draped over her, and the danger becomes clear to Mickey and the others. The moment is saved when Mickey manages to intervene, though not without peril: he is briefly trapped under the enraged bull as it charges. He nips the bull’s tail to coax it away just long enough to free himself, only to be knocked aside again as the beast charges toward the tree where Minnie awaits rescue.

The story takes a dramatic turn as Mickey’s car enters the fray, sensing danger to its owner. It pushes the bull aside and buys time for a safer escape. The car then bites the bull’s tail and uses its red taillight to lure the animal on a tiring chase, while spraying mud with its rear wheels to slow the bull down. Amidst the chaos, Mickey works to bring Minnie down from the tree; both tumble as the bull closes in. The car scoops them up in a protective embrace, and a cloud of dust created by the vehicle confuses the bull long enough for the two to slip away.

On the road home, the tension eases as Minnie reflects on Mortimer’s antics. She confesses that Mortimer’s tricks aren’t funny to her anymore, and the two friends—Minnie and Mickey—reunite in a show of forgiveness and camaraderie. They shake hands, leaving behind the day’s jealousy and rivalry, and look forward to a peaceful future together, the picnic ending with a renewed sense of friendship and mutual care.
