The movie does not explain how Gaston survived his clash with Dragon Maleficent. When he returns with Sir Hiss, he simply mentions surviving the encounter, but the specific details are never shown or discussed. This is left as a mystery, though it allows him to regroup and form his villainous alliance with Jafar, Ursula, and the Evil Queen.

Foreshadowing: Gaston's survival sets up his return as the primary antagonist seeking revenge against the princesses.

When Snow White warns the castle about Gaston's plan, she mentions that the Evil Queen would not approve of any alliance with her. This prompts the Magic Mirror to step in and summon three more princesses, Cinderella, Aurora, and Belle, to join the existing team of Ariel, Tiana, Moana, and Rapunzel. The Mirror acts on its own magical authority to strengthen the princesses' chances against the growing threat.

Chernabog is the legendary bog monster summoned by Gaston, originally introduced as a fearsome creature from folklore. The movie establishes that Chernabog grows more powerful as the night deepens, his strength is directly tied to darkness. This is why the princesses devise their plan to create a mock sunrise, exploiting his weakness to light and dawn.

Foreshadowing: The princesses learn of his night-dependent power before confronting him.

Realizing that Chernabog grows stronger as darkness deepens, the eight princesses unite to conjure a mock sunrise in the sky above the village. This simulated dawn floods the area with light, stripping Chernabog of his power. The powerful monster is transformed into a tiny, powerless bat nicknamed 'Chernabat,' effectively neutralizing the threat.

Foreshadowing: Tiana and the others realize Chernabog's weakness before the final confrontation.

When Tiana suggests that Gaston should team up with the princesses to turn the tide against Chernabog, the dark creature refuses. Gaston repeatedly fails to recruit Chernabog to his side, and in response, Chernabog transforms him into a pig as punishment for his failures and insolence. This moment reduces Gaston's threat level significantly and adds a humorous twist to his defeat.

Foreshadowing: Gaston's arrogance and refusal to accept help leads to his humiliating transformation.

When Chernabog arrives at the castle grounds, his terrifying presence and immense dark power scare off most of the villains, Jafar, Ursula, and the Evil Queen all flee. Only Gaston and his companion Sir Hiss remain standing their ground, either too stubborn or too confident to retreat. This abandonment highlights the selfish nature of the villainous alliance.

The exact nature of the battle is not detailed, but Snow White overcomes both her weariness of apples and the Queen's magic to claim victory.

After being transformed into a tiny bat by the mock sunrise, Chernabog, now nicknamed 'Chernabat', is left powerless. The princesses discover Aurora sleeping beside the diminutive creature in her chamber. This ambiguous ending suggests that some magical bond or enchantment remains between them, though the exact nature is left unexplained.

Foreshadowing: The mock sunrise specifically transforms Chernabog into a small bat before the final scene.
