Den of Thieves 2: Pantera

The film opens at the Antwerp International Airport where the Panther Mafia arrives to execute a carefully planned theft. They successfully storm the plane, overpowering security, and steal a valuable red diamond before fleeing the scene.

Back in Los Angeles, Nick O’Brien learns about the heist and immediately suspects that Donnie and his crew are responsible. Despite his instincts, his superiors warn him against investigating, as it would draw unwanted attention to the Federal Reserve's past failures.

Determined to learn more about the heist, Nick confronts Merrimen’s girlfriend, Holly. He pressures her for information about Merrimen’s hidden money, learning it is at the Panama Diamant Bank, but she insists on a cut of the money as her price for cooperation.

The Panther Mafia relocates to Nice, France, where Donnie, now using the alias Jean-Jacques, begins plotting their next move. They are targeting the World Diamond Center, a location made more vulnerable during a major event, allowing for insider access.

While scouting the World Diamond Center, Donnie meets Chava, the bank manager's wife, who unknowingly aids the Panthers by granting them access inside. Donnie scouts the security measures and reports back to Jovanna, outlining the challenges they will face.

Meanwhile, the Italian Mafia, led by a figure known as 'The Octopus,' learns of the diamond's theft and plan their retribution. They make their way to Nice to gather intelligence on the Panther crew, intent on reclaiming what was stolen.

As Donnie finalizes the heist preparations, Nick arrives in Nice, where he meets Detective Hugo. Armed with new intel, Nick manages to convince Donnie to let him join the Panthers under the guise of being broke and wanting to take risks.

At a club, Nick's growing bond with Jovanna creates jealousy in Marko, her ex, leading to a brawl. The conflict escalates, resulting in Nick and Donnie being kicked out, highlighting the volatile nature of their makeshift family.

The Italian Mafia captures Nick and Donnie on a boat, detailing the grave consequences of their actions if the diamond isn’t returned. This dangerous encounter solidifies the gravity of their situation as they await their fate.

To gain access to the vault unnoticed, the crew decides to use Nick as a fake security contractor. This risky plan pays off as Nick discovers the exact location of the diamond while also inadvertently spotting security lapses.

The heist is underway as the crew breaks into the World Diamond Center during a soccer match distraction. With Jovanna monitoring security systems, they manage to retrieve the diamond, though not without complications that nearly leaves Nick trapped on the rooftop.

As the crew attempts to escape, they're ambushed by Marko and Vuk, who have partnered with The Tigers. A fierce shootout ensues, significant violence unfolds, and Nick and Donnie barely manage to return the diamond to the Italian mafia, creating a moment of fleeting safety.

After a brief celebration of their presumed success, the authorities arrive to arrest the crew, sparing Nick due to his undercover role. Faced with betrayal, Donnie and Jovanna express their discontent as Nick admits his deception while vowing their friendship was genuine.

Transported to prison, Donnie faces an ambush by the Italian mafia, who take him under their wing. The Octopus sees potential in Donnie and offers him a position within the mafia, suggesting a shift in allegiance.

In a surprising turn, Nick receives a text from Donnie, hinting at their paths crossing again. As Nick drives along the coastline, he smiles, realizing that their bond has transcended their conflicts and betrayals.
