Death Do Us Part

A disheveled woman in a bridal gown is found stumbling along a highway and taken to a ranger station. The on-duty ranger, Harry Simpson, asks the woman for her name and what happened. She identifies herself as Kennedy Jamieson, and the film pivots into a flashback that unfolds the day before, at a secluded cabin where [Kennedy Jamieson], her fiancé Ryan Harris, Kennedy’s half-sister Hannah Jamieson, their friend Emily Hawkins, Ryan’s cousin Derrick Harris, and Ryan’s friend Chet Donovan gather for a bachelor/bachelorette party, with caretaker Bo Emery nearby.

The group settles into a tense atmosphere as secrets begin to spill beneath the surface. Kennedy’s described mental illness flares up under wedding stress, while Ryan guards a painful truth: he is having an affair with Hannah. Derrick, nursing a desperate scheme, intends to use Kennedy to squeeze money from Ryan—money he owes to a drug dealer. Meanwhile, Bo’s presence is shadowed by rumors of a missing wife, Susan, painting him as a suspect in his own right. That night, as the others join a scavenger hunt, Derrick is brutally murdered with an axe, and the mood of the cabin shifts from festive to dangerous.

When Derrick disappears, the remaining party members split up to search for him. Kennedy and Ryan stumble upon Derrick’s body, while Emily, Chet, and Hannah come face to face with Bo, who wields the same axe that killed Derrick. The group regroups at the cabin with a chilling realization: the power has gone out, the vehicle is sabotaged, and every cellular phone has been tossed into the stove. As fear escalates, Chet vanishes, Bo is found dying from a head wound, and Hannah is knifed by a figure wearing a burlap sack. Kennedy discovers Emily and Chet’s bodies, and then Hannah’s corpse, which Ryan is with. Assuming Ryan is the killer, Kennedy attacks him and flees into the night.

At dawn, Ryan returns to the cabin, and the two duel in a visceral confrontation. Kennedy ends up stabbing Ryan to death after he spitefully asserts that he never loved her. In a state of hysteria, Kennedy dons her wedding dress and encounters Emily, who claims she had only been injured and had faked being dead. The two women walk toward safety, but Emily slips in a crucial reveal: only she could know the details she’s sharing, and she asserts that she killed Derrick and Hannah and had intended to murder Ryan to protect herself—while Chet and Bo were collateral damage. Kennedy, pushed to the brink, snaps and strangles Emily.

The narrative circles back to the opening scene, restoring the order of events with a shocking twist. The bride lifts her veil to reveal that she is Emily Hawkins, who had recovered, bludgeoned Kennedy, and stolen her gown. The ranger offers condolences for all that the apparent bride—now revealed to be Emily—has endured, and when he hands her a pen to write down who he should contact, she uses it to stab him in the neck and escape into the woods, leaving her ultimate fate unknown.

In this harrowing cycle of secrets, betrayals, and a deadly game of deception, the story weaves a dark thread through every character’s hidden motive, leaving the audience with a haunting question about loyalty, memory, and the cost of keeping dangerous truths hidden.
