In a run-down motel situated in a small town, Chloe, a single mother, strives to navigate the harsh realities of her life while caring for her daughter, Sophia. This motel serves as her sanctuary, providing the means to make ends meet. Meanwhile, Topo, a blind man accompanied by his associate Quincy, arrives in their reliable Jeep. They stop at Chloe’s motel, where Quincy indulges in the services of local prostitute Gwen, eventually convincing Topo to spend the night. As the evening descends, a heated argument between Quincy and Gwen escalates, leading to a tragic shooting that shocks Chloe awake to a horrifying scene.

Chloe’s existence is shattered when she discovers the lifeless bodies of Gwen and Quincy. The police soon arrive, and Billy, her police acquaintance and Gwen’s pimp, tries to downplay the horrific events. However, Chloe stands her ground, sharing her fears as a single mother and the threat of losing custody of her precious Sophia. Just then, Topo appears, his vision obscured by much more than just blindness.

The following day brings even more chaos as Topo takes Chloe and Sophia hostage in a frantic attempt to retrieve his stolen Jeep. As they maintain surveillance on Billy’s residence, Chloe reluctantly agrees to fetch the vehicle from the police department but faces deception and obstacles. With Sophia occupied watching TV, Chloe confronts her own challenges, delving into the dark underbelly of their town.

Days blur together as Chloe uncovers more about Topo’s elusive past, revealing he has been a courier tasked with transporting bundles of cash. In a moment of both desperation and strategy, Chloe proposes a rare collaboration: she will assist Topo in recovering his stolen goods if he shares a portion of the profits. Topo, fueled by his limitations and a heavy heart, consents to her plan.

As they plunge deeper into the enigma surrounding Quincy’s death and Billy’s dubious involvement, Chloe discovers comfort and companionship in her alliance with Topo. Yet, their fragile connection faces strain when Topo uncovers Chloe’s secret stash of emergency funds. The next morning, they resume their surveillance, unraveling a web of deceit and malice that could destroy everything they treasure.

With the stakes mounting, Chloe finds herself cornered in an alleyway by Billy and his associates. Just then, Topo emerges, his blindness overshadowed by a newfound resolve. After a distraught Amber’s interference fails, Topo and Chloe rejoin forces, stealthily infiltrating Billy’s home to reclaim their prize. As the tension heightens, they deftly navigate the hazardous terrain, always remaining one step ahead of their adversaries.

Ultimately, Topo emerges triumphant, reclaiming his stolen goods and departing with Donnie, his accomplice, while leaving Chloe to reconstruct her fractured life. Amidst the unraveling chaos, Chloe takes the brave leap to contact the authorities, revealing that she once was a hostage. Police respond promptly, sending a squad car to her position, bringing her some comfort as they search Billy’s lair.

Meanwhile, Topo and Donnie unwittingly cross paths with Jacques, a ruthless leader of the Québécois mafia, in a desolate parking lot. Tensions spiral when Jacques confronts Topo regarding a $50,000 shortfall—a sum cleverly hidden away by Chloe as her share of the ill-gotten gains.

With threats looming, Jacques menacingly knows how to strike fear into Topo’s heart, compelling him to take extreme action against his aggressors. The grim aftermath sees Topo returning to the motel, only to face a mix of relief and anxiety from Chloe, who prepares to leave with Sophia. Their reunion, however, is cut short as Billy reemerges from the shadows, launching a barrage of bullets that leaves Topo and Donnie critically injured.

As Billy’s grip tightens around her neck, Chloe summons every bit of strength to shove him away, sending him crashing through a glass door in a final, fatal tumble. With her assailant down, Chloe quickly orchestrates the scene to appear as though the encounter was an unfortunate disaster before whisking Sophia away in a taxi to an unknown, safer refuge.
