Captain America: Civil War

In 1991, James 'Bucky' Barnes, now a brainwashed super-soldier, is activated through a set of code words in a Red Book. He receives a mission from a Hydra facility in Siberia, which sets the stage for his dark path.

Following his activation, Barnes embarks on a violent operation to seize a vehicle carrying super-soldier serum. His assault leads to the tragic deaths of the car's occupants, showcasing the ruthless effectiveness of his programming.

In the present day, the Avengers, including Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff, attempt to thwart Brock Rumlow in Lagos. Their efforts fail when Rumlow detonates a bomb, leading to chaos and revealing Barnes' connection to the incident.

Following the Lagos incident, U.S. Secretary of State Thaddeus Ross introduces the Sokovia Accords, a legal framework for the Avengers' oversight. The team becomes divided, with Tony Stark supporting the accords while Rogers emphasizes personal judgment.

At a conference in Vienna to ratify the Sokovia Accords, a bomb explosion kills King T'Chaka, prompting suspicion that Barnes orchestrated the attack. This tragedy propels T'Challa into a quest for vengeance against Barnes.

In the aftermath of T'Chaka's death, Rogers dedicates himself to protecting Bucky Barnes, believing he is innocent. The search leads them to Bucharest, where Barnes adamantly claims he had no part in the bombing.

Tensions escalate within the Avengers as Vision attempts to prevent Wanda Maximoff from leaving with Rogers. This internal conflict intensifies as Rogers learns of Stark keeping Wanda under control for perceived safety.

Helmut Zemo executes a plan by killing Barnes' former Hydra handler and retrieving the activation phrases. He uses this knowledge to unleash Barnes, manipulating him to enact his own agenda and summoning chaos.

With permission from Ross, Stark assembles his team to confront Rogers and Barnes at Leipzig/Halle Airport. A massive battle ensues, and in a surprising twist, Romanoff chooses to help Rogers escape instead of enforcing Stark's wishes.
