In the present day, Rick and Harper Rutherford buy the long-abandoned Camp Pleasant Lake with grand plans to transform it into a horror-themed attraction. They aim to capitalize on its haunted reputation and organize a ‘Haunted Halloween Weekend’ for thrill-seeking guests.

As the day of the attraction arrives, eager guests come to Camp Pleasant Lake, anticipating a weekend filled with scares and staged horror. Actors are hired, stories are crafted, and excitement fills the air, but an unseen danger begins to brew.

As the attraction progresses, a planned mock hanging takes a deadly turn when one of the actors is discovered actually strangled to death. The Rutherfords initially assume it is a sick practical joke, yet a wave of tension begins to wash over the camp.

A couple seeking privacy in the woods is found hours later, left in a gruesome fashion. The woman is discovered with a slit throat and eyes filled with acorns, while the man is gruesomely nailed to a tree—a stark reminder of the camp's dark legacy.

As more strange occurrences happen, chaos ensues among the guests. The electricity goes out, phones go dead, and fear intensifies as the lines between fiction and a terrifying reality begin to blur. Campers realize they are trapped with a killer among them.
