As tensions escalate, Nazi soldiers led by Colonel Strucker besiege the temple, forcing the monk to flee for his life. The danger of the Nazis threatens not only his safety but also the powerful scroll he is sworn to protect.

Fast forward sixty years, the nameless monk encounters a young pickpocket named Kar, who shows a selfless nature that intrigues the monk. He suspects Kar may be a suitable successor to inherit the deep legacy of his teachings.

During a violent confrontation with a local gang, Kar falls for a young woman named Jade. Their meeting marks a significant turning point in Kar's life as he begins to develop deeper connections beyond his established life.

Jade attends an exhibition at a human rights museum run by Strucker's granddaughter, Nina. This event reveals Nina’s ruthless ambition as she secretly continues her grandfather's quest to retrieve the fabled scroll.

After a stolen necklace leads to an awkward encounter, the monk and Kar are spotted by Nina's mercenaries. They barely escape to a nearby laundromat, which doubles as a refuge for monks who offer them sanctuary.
