Abhay Gulati, portrayed by Imran Khan, and Aaliya Khan, played by Deepika Padukone, share a deep bond steeped in childhood friendship. Aaliya has a passion for acting and the cinematic world, influenced by her mother, a former actress. On the other hand, Abhay, whose father Jeet is keen on him managing their family-owned movie theater, has a knack for cooking. Abhay's aunt, Pammi, lends support as he navigates his path. As their relationship blossoms into romance, the backdrop of Abhay's sister's wedding serves as a pivotal moment for the couple.
